7 Easy Steps to Build Trust in a Relationship

in Relationship

Did you know that there are 7 easy steps to build trust in a relationship? You may have been struggling with this issue and it's often easy to overlook some obvious relationship facts. Going overboard and changing everything is not necessarily the best course to take. Consistency and dependability are often key. If you have been struggling with your relationship and want to rebuild or even make up,the 7 steps outlined here will certainly help.

First, don't keep secrets. There is nothing worse than your partner knowing something is going on or thinking that it is. A partnership that has been going any length of time leads to a level of intuition. There is knowledge between you and secrecy can lead to odd behavior. It can involve quite a lot of energy can secrecy. That energy could be used in a much more positive way by going into developing and possibly rescuing the relationship

Second as I mentioned in the first paragraph, there has to be predictability in some measure. I realise that perceived wisdom is that relationships need a bit of a jolt from time to time to keep things fresh but in reality we all need stability. Giving or receiving a present from time to time is great but mostly we need things to be nice and steady. Trust in a relationship is built on knowing what to expect and reliability.

Next, you have to ensure that your own needs are met. Don't enter into a guessing game. You can find that this particular aspect of a relationship can be lost. Rather than expressing your own wants and needs you go overboard in meeting theirs because you are so frightened of losing the relationship. Being too nice and not looking after yourself could be seen as manipulation which it can be.

You can be self centered just avoid being selfish.

Fourth. You should watch your body language. If you are saying yes but are shaking your head, your partner doesn't hear what you are saying but sees what you are doing. Your partner needs to believe that you believe what you are saying. Your words have to match your expressions to build trust in relationship.

Fifth. You have to believe that your partner is capable. If one of you thinks the other one is weak and doesn't have the ability to be in an equal relationship there is a problem. If you simply think that you are superior, then there is an abuse of trust in a relationship.

Next. You have to have the ability to say no to your partner. If you say yes to everything you lose respect. The occasional refusal to play ball can actually build trust in a relationship in as much as you respect each other.

Seven. There may be pain but there is a payback. Whilst predictability is good for building trust in a relationship, you have to accept also that a certain amount of poking around in the foundations is often necessary and by doing so you are working together on the rebuilding and out of that can come a better more meaningful partnership with solid walls and floors. Sometimes issues are difficult but they must be faced and they should be faced together to build trust in a relationship.
